9/6/2023 0 Comments Mac os opengl version support![]() ![]() After installing Bootcamp driver, latest nVidia drivers, VS2019 and few SDK I was able to build my engine on Windows and guess what. I used Bootcamp to make a Windows partition and I installed Windows 10 along side OS X on my Mac. Luckily I was able to still use my Mac and develop with OpenGL 4.5 :) The answer is Bootcamp. I wanted to use 4.5 features without having to buy a whole new windows/linux machine. I was developing mainly on 2012 MacBook Pro and I quickly hit the OpenGL 4.1 wall!!! This was very discouraging that Apple no longer supports OpenGL and stopped development at version 4.1. I very quickly picked up on GLSL and the modern core profile, and quickly wanted to experiment with features like shader storage buffers etc. : Found mod file clienttweaks-forge-1.18.1-7.1.0.I recently got back into 3D graphics development (working on my own 3D engine, progress documented here: ) and decided to use OpenGL as my graphics API because I used it in the past (15+ years ago, so I was only used to fixed pipeline). : Found mod file 3dskinlayers-forge-1.4.6-mc1.18.2.jar of type MOD with locator : Incorrect key was corrected from null to defaultconfigs : Configuration file /Users/*username*/curseforge/Instances/Medieval Minecraft - 1.18.2 (1)/config/fml.toml is not correct. : SpongePowered MIXIN Subsystem Version=0.8.5 Source=union:/Users/*username*/curseforge/Install/libraries/org/spongepowered/mixin/0.8.5/mixin-0.8.5.jar%2314!/ Service=ModLauncher Env=CLIENT I figured this only happens on macOs as Apple refuses to support a higher openGL version than 4.1. ![]() When I start the new Version (12) of Medieval Minecraft 1.18.2. ![]()
